Gluck researchers attend conference in Hong Kong

In mid-September, Drs. Abby Burrows Franco and Allen Page traveled to Hong Kong to attend the 23rd International Conference of Racing Analysts and Veterinarians, a biennial conference for analysts, veterinarians and administrators in the racing industry.
While attending the conference, Dr. Burrows Franco, a staff scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Scott Stanley, presented some of her work on the Equine Biological Passport and new methods by which samples can be screened faster.
Dr. Page presented a portion of his research on messenger RNA as a biomarker for catastrophic racing injuries in Thoroughbred racehorses.
Additionally, Dr. Page was one of two 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 winners in the veterinary section, which was awarded based on overall presentation and potential for the presented research to positively impact the racing industry.
